Hleb 'to leave Arsenal'

Alexander Hleb's agent claims the player will leave Arsenal this summer.

The Belarus midfielder has been linked with a move to Inter Milan, who have expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already had to cope with midfielder Mathieu Flamini agreeing to join AC Milan when his Arsenal contract expires at the end of June, and now Hleb's agent Nikolai Shpilevski claims his client will also be going at the end of the season.

He told Belarussian paper Pressball: 'Alexander is preparing to make the most important moves of his life.

'He is leaving Arsenal even though they want to offer him a new long-term contract and better conditions. Only time will tell if leaving is the right decision, but there's no way back now. Everything will be cleared up in the next two weeks.'

Hleb joined Arsenal from German club Stuttgart in the summer of 2005 and has so far made 89 league appearances, scoring seven goals.

Jol set to replace departing Stevens at Hamburg

Former Tottenham boss Martin Jol has emerged as Hamburg's first choice to replace Huub Stevens as coach.

The club's board of directors are due to meet on Tuesday to discuss the details of an offer made to Jol, club chairman Horst Becker has told the Welt newspaper.

If the deal is approved, Jol could be named as Stevens' successor on Wednesday, just days before the end of the current Bundesliga season.

Stevens will leave the club this summer to take over at PSV Eindhoven and HSV have been on the lookout for a new coach since his announcement last December.
